This will teach you in a simple way on how to understand the way a DB works, those three holes are labelled i, ii, iii; and each channels are also labelled i,ii,iii respectively.
When the three live cables are connected into the holes
respectively, they work for the channels in which are labelled with the same respective numbers. For example any wire connected into the hole labelled i, will carry any load that is plugged into any channel labelled i . The same goes for ii and iii respectively. Not to forget, the neutral is connected at the extreme side end of the DB.
